This research proposal is a duet by the singer Mary Denaxa and the dancer Zoi Efstathiou.
Mary Denaxa comes from the field of folk music while Zoi Efstathiou is a contemporary dancer of the ROSAS Dance Company for the last 5 years. They create a performance, by forming an alloy of 2 different elements of art, dance and singing.
This is a research based on a text which is focused on the concept of mourning; written and gradually deconstructed by both artists, over the period of 20 days. The main aim is to investigate the primary stimulus, which focuses on breathing and movement. The basis of the performance originates from activating the strings of the voice, starting by different parts of the body, either to produce sound or movement.
